𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: Burning cinders and acrid smoke blew out in every direction, enveloping the forest in a fiery haze. Just being near it was enough to draw tears, as the searing hot smoke that blew past stung the eyes and nose. It would last, maybe minutes. The more you tried to run, the more lost and confused you would all become. All you could do was sit and wait. Slowly, the burning smoke began to settle, and the veil was drawn to reveal a burning fire. Deeper within the forest, where the explosion came from the floor was covered in burning bugs. All roasted, a single drop of a grass blade would make them crack and fall apart. Burnt to ashes by the sheer intensity of the flame.
But there was so much. What about Saburo? That sweet kid was just like the rest of you, a casualty of this ongoing war. Perhaps some of you weren't the best of friends, but there was still something there. Even the coldest human being couldn't simply turn around and leave, even for practical reasons. What about Kichaku? The very man that dragged you all into this hell? He couldn't just leave you all behind. At this point, if no attention was paid to them and everyone ran away you would be killing them yourselves and casting yourselves further into hell.
The future was a nightmare, just as Lazarus foretold. One wrong move could result in untold catastrophe for everyone. More people would go missing. More would die. Would there be anything for the soldiers to come back to?
With broken bones and bleeding hearts, who among the group was still strong enough to do what was right? Or has... all hope been lost.
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: The impact kind of shocked her- she was trembling, her ears ringing from the blast. She hadn't been intensely close to it- if she hadn't moved, perhaps she'd be blown back, but Yaban was safely away from it as well. A part of her just wanted to cry, before she recalled- Arata and Yaban were okay, by visuals. But what about Saburo and Kichaku? She rushed to the shack, standing in the door to gaze upon whatever had become of them- her reaction depended on what she saw, but she was still weak in the knees but not as fatigued as she'd expected to be- if she'd been hit by those bugs, they'd all be out but now since the danger had been eliminated she thought she could probably handle getting everyone back, even if she had to drag them inch by inch.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: A half of the shack had been completely blown away, wood and splinters were blown all over the place. Although most of everything within had been burnt up, among the heaps and hordes of bugs little thin winding veins of stragglers were assembled. As time passed, they dropped off by seconds but it seemed like some were managing to fly off and get far away from here. Just like the group, how could they live after this? At the center of the room, there was something giant hidden under a mass of burnt bugs. It reeked of burnt flesh, and underneath the bugs charred skin cracked of colors black and red peaked from within. It was obvious at this point as to what it was, but in the face of grief no one wanted to face reality. Although something began to move under, an arm slowly moving. Was it Saburō? Was he still alive? What kind of pain was he in? How much longer would he have to suffer for his one mistake?
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: Asuka's face contorted into a rather incomprehensible expression as the smell hit her. She gagged; never had she smelt burning flesh in her life, but here it was, in her face and inescapable. She rushed over to the moving arm, brushing off as many bugs as she could while trying to be gentle about it before making the handsigns for her healing technique. Her heart pounded with an inexplicable, painful hammering as her mind tried to wrap around the idea of what had just happened, why it had happened- but she needed to focus. Heal, get them out of there, heal more. "Saburo?" Her voice cracked, trying to see if he responded or showed any sign of responding. "Saburo?" She asked again and she didn't care if it was delirious. "Saburo, Kichaku, you guys are going to be okay. You're going to get out of here, and we're all going to be fine, okay?"
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: No sound came out. Not a grunt or a peep from Saburō as Asuka pleaded with what wasn't there. The more she brushed off, the more she could see. Even the burns couldn't have caused this damage, there were bugs burrowed deep under Saburō's skin. You could see cooked fat, sinew, and raw muscle altogether in the span of a mere 6 inches. An anatomy lesson that would forever stain the mind. Saburō's arm came loose as a hand desparately clawed out. It was burnt and bleeding, and as more space opened up someone within could be heard struggling to breath.
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: Breathing as if she was suffocating and grasping for air as she saw more and more of what she wasn't able to really stomach. She felt sick; the image would forever stain her mind. This was death- the thing her mother feared, violence, and the loss of such precious life. She didn't know how to react other than her slight panic attack, but she didn't stop. She didn't know why she didn't, but she grabbed the hand that clawed out and pulled, hoping that Kichaku would just come out. She hoped it wouldn't hurt, but how would she take care of what was very clearly a corpse? "Kichaku?" She asked, trying to take into account how damaged the Nara was.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: As soon as Asuka offered her hand, the hand latched on. Kichaku was hanging on with his life, as he desperately grabbed and pulled with all of his strength. Even with Asuka doing her best she couldn't pull Kichaku out from under the giant. The more time Kichaku was under there, the more air he wouldn't get. She would need someone's help for this, and fast.
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: "ZEMIR!" She screamed, aggression and anger filling her tone. "ANYONE! HELP! ZEMIR, WHY?! WHY, ZEMIR?!" She sounded agonized as she cried out, her voice filled with pain as she did her best to shove Saburo's corpse of off Kichaku. "PLEASE! ANYBODY!" She finally broke into tears, but she could only scream the same thing over and over again; why, Zemir?
𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢: While he had been out for some time, who knows how long, Arata was stirring from his little slumber. Awake enough to take note of someone shouting, the words muffled, as if he was still far away. He coughed and groaned, the smell, it was noxious to him. His hands pushed on the ground as he got up to his knees. One hand clutching around his midsection, the other limply dangling just to save what little energy he had.
He would come over to the source of the yelling, "What's up?" He asked, taking out his scroll after getting a survey of the situationa nd seeing that Kichaku was alive. if he had any chakra left at all, it would be used to make as many clones of ink as he could, saving some for self-sustaining purposes, and get to helping her pull Kichaku out from under the rubble.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: In his current stage, even attempting to use chakra would make Arata sway back and forth. He couldn't rely on clones here, and despite his terrible state he would need to help Asuka physically if they wanted to get Kichaku out.
𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢: Rolling his scroll up, Arata would work with Asuka, "COme on, let's get them out of here." There wasn't really anything else he could do or say to help her out.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: Together, Arata and Asuka continued to tug on Kichaku's arm. Every passing second, the tighter Kichaku's grip became on Asuka's arm. It was a race against time, and they were running out. Even Saburō's body began to move slightly because of the sheer amount of force the three of them had to put in until Kichaku finally came loose. He fell right out, rolling on the ground under Arata and Asuka's feet as Saburo's own body finally fell over and parted into a different way. Ash was thrown into the air, and briefly clouded the Akimichi's body as it continue to shrink back to its normal size. Kichaku was still gasping for air, his whole body moving with each breath as he tried to hopelessly hold onto every bit of air that he took.
Kichaku's whole head was caked in dry blood mixed with ash and more, his eyes were shut closed in pain.
Saburō's face could clearly be seen now, parts of it were scalded and burnt by the explosion but the rest was intact. It was only the rest of his body that had been burnt so badly. He was not breathing or anything, just. Still. His eyes were screwed shut, and his brow furrowed into a permanent expression of pain and in the right light of the flame: Dried tears could be seen.
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: What's up? What's up? Her arms trembled as they pushed, anger, rage and sorrow washing over her senses as tears rolled down her cheeks and her throat and lungs burned from her screams. She knew he was disoriented, but she couldn't form words to really say what was up. She just wished that Zemir was here to hit him again- maybe it would really fix that disorientation of his, whack him out of his stupor. Still, she literally shoved Arata to the side as she settled beside Kichaku. "Where does it hurt?"
𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢: Getting pushed to the side, Arata fell over. Hitting the ground back first and knocking what air he had left in him out of himself. Going right back to sleep just as quickly as he had gotten up to help, he could spend some time thinking about what it meant to have a friend that cared for you like that, or what it meant to understand social conventions and norms.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: Kichaku's breathing slowed down, and slowly he started to regain his composure as his eyes slowly flitted open. He raised his right arm, trying to point to it with his left arm but there was nothing there.
"I'll be, I'll be fine. What... happened?"
Kichaku said this as he slowly brought himself up from the ground, just barely propping himself up with his left arm as his sight accustomed to what little was around him. His vision was blurry, but premonition of fear alone made him realize what had happened. He didn't remember anything after the attack began. The last thing he could remember was the feeling of something trickling down his head, like little ants prickling at his skin and a sudden exhaustion.
Kichaku got up, and stumbled across the room with haste. He fell at his last step, collapsing before Saburo and wrapping his left arm around the kid's head trying to grab onto what little he could. Kichaku brought his head close, trying to hear breathing but he could only hear his own. There wasn't even a twitch of movement from Saburō. Kichaku lurched up and started slamming his hand on Saburō's chest.
"Come on! Come on! Jirō! I didn't want this to happen! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry."
Kichaku's eyes were tinged red with tears as he grabbed onto Saburō's chest, trying to pull him up by his jacket. Even though his vision wasn't clouded that much, Kichaku was seeing someone else in Saburō. Kichaku frantically pulled with all his might, and Saburō's body slowly turned. If no one helped him, he would keep on until he could drag Saburō out from the house.
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: Kichaku surprisingly got up and she begrudgingly looked at Arata, who she'd basically knocked out before feeling a pang of guilt. She should have punched him- but she banished that thought from her head quickly- she was just upset, angry beyond belief, but she grabbed Arata by his ankles and dragged him from out of the shack as Kichaku began pulling Saburo.. Jiro? Did Saburo have another name? "At least someone isn't useless." She murmured, carelessly pulling Arata as she came to terms with what Saburo looked like. No, he could be alive? That false hope was what was keeping her going and even Kichaku's words couldn't rip her from her delusions. Saburo would be returned home safely. They weren't even that close, but--- she had friends, right? They were friends, something she didn't have many of. Priceless, precious friends. They'd all sit together at a table and eat together again- Akimichi food, Yaban, her, Zemir and Saburo. Maybe they could invite Kichaku, even. Saburo wasn't dead.
Saburo wasn't dead.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: Kichaku kept struggling as he pulled on Saburō's body, even as Asuka joined in. There was no part of him that wanted to let go until they were out of the shack and even then he clumsily ran straight back into the shack for Arata. Who Kichaku noticed when he was pulling Saburō out. Since Arata was much lighter, Kichaku tried to bring his left arm under Arata's and prop him up until the both of them could walk out. Hopefully if there was any energy left in the artist, both him and Kichaku would hobble out of the shack together.
"Who's alive? Who's still here," Kichaku impatiently asked Asuka. He didn't even realize that almost everything was starting to burn up in flames, Kichaku's mind was scattered and his eyes looked empty. It's like he had died completely in that shack and had woken up in Hell. Everything was just so wrong. Nothing was right.
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: It took her a moment to reply. "Yaban, Zemir.... but Zemir was a monster the last time I saw him." She couldn't really explain any better. She was grateful for Kichaku's help. "We need to get them back to the village- will we have time to find Zemir with the fire?" She nodded to the flames.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: Kichaku seemed more confused than before when she mentioned Zemir was some sort of monster. That couldn't have been related to the enemy's ability. When Asuka mentioned they needed to get back to the village, Kichaku looked at just what they had on their hands already and started to shake his head.
"I don't know how we're going to get everyone back. Or where we're going to go."
Kichaku continued walking with Arata, and if Asuka showed him, they would find where Yaban was and settle him down before heading back for Saburō. Once everyone was gathered, Kichaku would find a tree to rest against and just lean against it with all his weight. He stared straight into the open flame, not knowing what to make of all this. But this, this sight and these feelings he would commit to memory forever. The burning smell of the forest, being lost in his memories and emotions, the dancing of the fire before him as if to taunt him.
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: "None of that matters, as long as we do. We can learn about the how and where when we get there. For now, we should just focus on what we can do." She walked over to where Yaban was, prepared to pick him up as much as she could despite her tiny body more or less princess-style. It put a lot of strain on her back, but she would most likely manage to struggle over to where Kichaku was storing Arata. The faster they did this, the better- unless, of course, Kichaku helped. It would probably take him as long as it took for him to pull Saburo over for Asuka to really carry Yaban to the tree.
𝐙𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐫: The smell of smoke drifted through the forests of death finally reaching the nostrils of the unconscious Zemir. He had received no physical damage during the previous events but instead had driven himself to exhaustion. When he finally came too his mind was reeling; Where was he? What was this smell? Memories that were blurred started to drift into his mind; Arata's ribs cracking under his fist, leaving Saburo to die under a swarm of bugs while he saved Asuka, Attacking Yaban. The images were so violent in his mind he couldn't discern the outcome. Eventually Zemir had pieced the information together. He had KILLED Arata and Yaban at the very least. He looked down at his hands in horror, his eyes becoming wider with realization of what he had done. With his mind not in a good place Zemir did the only thing a frightened kid would do. He ran. He ran deeper into the forests looking for somewhere to hide, running further from the smoke and light of the fire, from the bodies of his friends.
𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐨: After her last interaction with whoever this thing once was, she watched as the thing slowly lost it’s armour. Like rocks falling down mountain, each part dropped and soon the person from within the «creature» was exposed. She was about to head off, But stayed to observe whatever this was, for only to notice the familiar headband. ‘’Wait- Are you a friend or foe...’’ she questioned him out loud. But seconds after, a large explosion echoed through the forest and raging fire begun to eat the forest- piece by piece. HOLY SHIT THIS IS BAD. If any of her friends were caught in this fire, or possibly hurt by the explosion, she needed to hurry the fuck up. But first, she had to react as this person she was with tried to run away. Friend or foe, she could not leave him alone, so the moment he tried to run away, Chie would rush after and attempt to Get a hold of his arm to stop him. ‘’Hey! Don’t leave! Everything will be okay, man. But Please don’t run off alone! We are safer together and right now, I desperatly need your help. I have friends, that may be caught in this fire, so please, help me try to find them! I know this is scary, but I promise I’ll have your back!’’ She said out loud and released his arm. In hope whoever this person was, would follow, Chie quickly turned around and rushed off. She had to Get to the cabin and start her search from there. She shouted out for Asuka, Arata and Kichaku, in hope to get someones attention. Either with- or without the frighten Zemir.
𝐙𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐫: Zemir had been so busy freaking out that he'd completely looked over Chie. When Zemir attempted to run he felt her hand grab his arm in an attempt to stop him from bolting. He turned and faced her, his expression now a mix of fear and anger. "NO, you don't understand!" He yank his hand free and pushed her away from him "I KILLED THEM" He once again looked at his hands "I killed them. I couldn't control myself, and I killed them. I ... I can't stay here, I'll hurt others" He took a deep breath "And I don't want to see what I've done. I can't, I won't live with that" He was irrational, the only thing Zemir truly feared was his own anger, he was a afraid of what it could do and now as far as he knew, he had found out. His mind was racing, he'd be arrested, probably tortured or executed, locked away for ever? He couldn't deal with that, as Chie rushed off to try find survivors Zemir shook his head "You'll only find bodies" he muttered as he once again attempted to retreat deeper into the forest away from the consequences of his actions.
𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐨: Seconds after she got a hold of Zemir, he pulled away and went on about killing them. His expression showed clearly how he felt. Chie glared at him, Trying to keep her cool to properly understand the situation he had experianced. She felt bad for him and her expression turned rather sad as he went on. But that sadness turned into fustration and then anger. She stood right before him and watched him stare at his hands. Her left hand slipped into her bag and pulled something out inbetween her fingers. Unless he noticed the string-like thing, she would stick this to the back of his left shoulder. Then, the moment he looked back up, she would attempt to place her hands on his shoulders while slamming her forehead into his as hard as she could. ‘’Wake UP! You lost control and right now you are losing every sense of your cool. We are in a dangerous situation Where the forest is on fuckings fire and we have a potential gang of friends that MAY or may not be alive. Worst case, They May be in need of help! There May be a slim chance that They are still alive and that we are their only chance of survival! I would much rather think back on this situation, knowing I did Everything I could to make sure they survive, then to admit defeat while they burn to chrisps. I’m sorry, for being hard on you. But right now we need to stay calm and help each other out cause on our own, our chances of surviving are slim to none.’’ She said in a mad tone- losing her cool. ‘’I’m terrifyed of what I might stumbled over, especially on my own. But I’ll risk anything for their chance of getting out of here, safely with me! That’s all. I’m sorry.’’ She huffed out and If her hit landed, she would hold onto her head. After waiting for a moment, she rushed off, this time being the first and possibly the last interaction between the two. She hurried up, making her way closer to the fires and yelled for her friends.
𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢: After having been dragged around enough, and set up against a tree with Yaban and his dog (hopefully), Arata started to stir again. Whenever he went under, it was from trying to breathe too much, catch his breath, or overexerting himself in his awake state with his ribs crushed. But whenever he was out cold, his body just focused on recuperating enough to let him wake up. Having your ribs giving your lungs a bear hug kind of sucks.
If Asuka and Kichaku were back with Saburo, Arata would just smile and weakly offer a thumbs up, "Glad to see. That you're doing alright." He said through harried breathing.
𝐙𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐫: When Chie headbutted him, Zemir acted in retaliation, attempting to slam a fist into her gut. Successful or not he'd let her make her plea, and the expression on his face would twist with anger, frustration, guilt and sorrow. He clenched his fists as he came top a decision. In a fit of annoyed rage he lashed out at a nearby tree, punching it as hard as he could "FINE! We'll go see what i've done. They deserve that much" He hated himself, one because of what he'd done and two because of how quick he was to run away from his friends, he couldn't call himself a man with actions like those. "Lets go, i'm physically fine, just exhausted" With that, Zemir took off with Chie towards the fire and the hut. Upon arrival he was faced with the destruction and froze, he didn't want to see the bodies of his friends, it make it all too real. He closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths as he readied himself
𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐨: Her headbutt was succsessful, But it resulted in her getting punched in the guts. It surprised her and she let out a couple of painful noises. Guess she kind of deserved that one, but it ended up with Zemir deciding to come along. The two of them made their way to the cabin, which was damaged. Zemir needed a moment, so Chie gave him a couple of minutes before asking ‘’Do you recall Where you last saw the others?’’ She looked around the cabin and went from the side to see inside through a broken window. She kept her distance from the fire. There was nothing inside, so she proceeded to scout the area.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: As Chie and Zemir both approached the hut, they would find it in shambles just as the other group had. The smoldering wood and choked grass of the forest has been providing ample nurturing to the fires. What was once little split embers was now beginning to turn into infernos. They needed to leave here soon, but the more they looked around it became obvious that something came into the shack before. There was an impression leading from outside the shack and into the forest. It was almost as wide as a cart, and even a blind man could notice it once they came across it. If they followed along, they would find what exactly had been drug around and who had done. (For the sake of the session, Chie will go on autopilot for now and follow Zemir. Try to keep interactions with her to a minimum until Emi is back around.)
𝐙𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐫: As the pair arrived, they quickly found the wreckage. The fire was growing more and more intense as they got closer. After a quick inspection they'd find the trail, like something had been dragged away. Could have been a survivor? He ushered Chie along as they jogged along the trail following it until they found where it ended. "Anyone still alive?" He called out
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: Although she was a mess, trembling- unable to really explain how she felt other than desolate, Asuka heard Zemir's call. "Z-Zemir?!" She called in response, whipping her head around and dashing in the direction Zemir's voice had come from- the shack. "Zemir! Zemir, over here!" She hoped to god he wasn't the monster she saw almost kill everybody; hopefully he was sane now.
𝐙𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐫: The moment he heard Asuka call his name he rushed in. Following her voice until he finally found the group. They were in a bad way most looked dead or close to it. "Asuka!" He rushed over stopping a few meters from them "are you okay?" After confirming she was fine he'd look to Arata and Yaban before crouching down with his head in his hands, "what have I done? What am I?"
𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢: Arata would grunt a little, coughing a bit as the slightly crushed lungs made it a little hard to breathe. But as Zemir came in, Arata would offer a strained smirk, "What you are, is a badass." He chuckled a little, coughing again as the smell of smoke in the distance mixed with his cracked ribs were starting to become an issue for him.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: Chie followed in suit, behind Zemir as she too was anxiously waiting to see what remained of their team. Lain out across the ground was the team, Yaban and Arata were both knocked out but a simple observation would show that they were still well and alive. Saburō, however, was laid out next to the two and as the effects of rigor mortis set in he had become as stiff as stone. Up until this point, Kichaku had been barely managing to process everything but as he noticed the rest approaching he finally picked himself up.
"We can't stay here for much longer," Kichaku mentioned as his eyes glazed across the fire, "we need to get out of the forest. Somewhere we can hide, just for the rest of today."
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: "You were a monster." Asuka's statement was blunt and most likely difficult for Zemir to hear. "But you're not anymore, which means we're going to be okay." If anything, that armor scared her more than Zemir; it looked nothing like him. Therefore, logic in her mind dictated since Zemir looked like, well, Zemir, he'd be fine. "And where could we hide? In town seems better than anything else, would they really risk screwing around in a crowded place?"
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: "We can't just hide anywhere in town. If people see us... and," Kichaku's eyes briefly glanced towards Saburō's body, "... we'll just be found out. If they even ask us one question about what happened, we risk everything."
𝐙𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐫: He winced at Asuka's words but nodded "for now" he said softly. His eyes fell on Saburo and then to Kichaku. After listening he spoke up "the orphanage? They don't matter, plus my room is like a strong cell. Or the Hokage?"
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: When Asuka mentioned that Zemir had been a monster, Kichaku's eyes seemed to light up as if he was trying to connect something. However, the word didn't seem to hold any ultimate meaning as it just went in one ear and out the other. When Zemir mentioned the Hokage's, an idea came to. Before he could reveal it though, some matters needed to be settled first.
"Does anyone here have a scroll?"
𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢: Coughing and sputtering a little, Arata would reach behind his back and take out that scroll. "I do." He muttered, offering it up to Kichaku.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: Kichaku hobbled over to Arata and took the scroll, fanning it out and letting its paper trail out as far as it could go. From there he laid it out flat on the ground and used the Unsealing Technique to take out what was already in it. Once everything was out and had been discarded of, Kichaku hastily kicked it all into one big pile before bringing the scroll to Saburō's side. Kichaku sat down by his side, and faltered for a second looking over the body. But, after a few more seconds he brought a single hand up trying to form an incomplete hand seal. It would take him a minute, but eventually he was able to concentrate his chakra and with a an enveloping smoke Saburō's body was stored into the scroll. From there, Kichaku awkwardly fumbled with the scroll trying to put it back together. Once it was and Kichaku finally lifted it, it was almost shocking how light the scroll was if it weren't for how normal this was in the shinobi world. However, Kichaku couldn't bring the scroll much higher than his waist, as if weighed down by the shame and guilt of simply surviving. He'd stuff the scroll into one of his pockets before looking around.
"Who can't walk?"
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: "Do I have to pick up Yaban again?" She looked with distaste at the heavy Yaban. Sure, she managed to pick him up before, but it was hard as hell to carry him like a princess when he weighed more than her- she'd put a lot of strain on her body. Not that it was Yaban's fault, of course. Still, if he said yes, she'd probably attempt to pick up the boy with what little strength she had left.
𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢: "I can walk. I just need a little support to move along. In case I zonk out again."
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: Kichaku looked at Yaban and Arata both, before pointing Zemir towards Yaban.
"Help her with that."
Kichaku leaned over and offered his hand to Arata, and together they'd lean on one another to get out of this burning forest. Unless there were some parting words to say, Kichaku would be quick to start moving towards where they came from.
"We're going to be heading out of the village for today. There's a place I know of where we'll be safe. Everyone stays right behind Arata and I until we get there. We'll be taking backstreets, whatever dark and shady parts of the village we can get through to get out. You don't let yourself be seen and you don't linger. Alright?"
After that, Kichaku went dead silent trying to push ahead with Arata by his side. Together they'd lead everyone away from the village. It would take hours before they actually got out, even as they were leaving shinobi could be seen moving to the forest. Everyone was on alert after the explosion came from within. The whole group would stick to walls and cover themselves in shadow just to move from one place to the next. Privy eyes were everywhere, scouring the village for signs of the arsonists who started the fire. It was constricting, as each passing moment, each step ahead; the walls grew thinner and their chances of getting out became more and more fickle.
Finally, through one of the abandoned gates that led out from the village the group broke out into the light and hurriedly ran out from Konoha. From there, it would feel like a breeze just walking down the old road. Taking twists and turns down each trail, until eventually they were in front of Lord Hibiki's small estate. There were no signs of life yet. However, Kichaku was unaware of the former Hokage's granddaughter. With just a step of caution Kichaku would hurry to the front door before quickly opening it and setting Arata down in a nearby chair. Kichaku gestured for silence and listened intently for the sign of any life in the house. If it was only quiet for the first few seconds, Kichaku would hobble off down into the house trying to find a bathroom to wash himself off in.
𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐮 𝐔𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐡𝐚: Sweeping into their home, the home of Hibiki and Isamu. The opening of the front door seemed not to do a single thing, but it did quite a bit thing in terms of alarment. To the ride of the door frame was a single, tiny ivory candle that had formerly had been lit and when the door had been opened with a quickness, it dispelled the wry flame, it didn’t cast much light too. It may have seemed insignificant, however it was one of the thousands of precaution made by Hibiki to keep their home safe, along with his ‘daughter’ Isamu and it was a very important one. Within the opposing direction, within a dark hallway that held to a single door to the right, which was the bathroom and daring to go deeper, there was a staircase going upward a floor, a bird, a creature sat staring with its two toned hues and the tilt of its head. Naturally, he had been a hostile bird, but it was a smart one and it never launched itself into stupidity, and thankfully, it had not for the song eagle, Reihaka noticed two familiar faces and two of them was a familiar smells too, Zemir and Yaban. The bird went into alert mode, moving to the hallway as quietly as possible, attempting to alert Isamu.
Disturbed not it seemed quite quiet and peaceful, at least, until Kichaku thought to listen, there was a gentle sound of pecking against wood and a low-voice, sweet and completely unaware of things going on—Running water too. “W-What?!” The voice asked as if they seemed a bit alarmed by this pecking, it was a bit murmured by a door, both the door and her voice were easily heard.
Bothering not to keep her head out, a whole figure would’ve exited this bathroom if someone dared to spot this and considering, the hallway was lined in a direct shot from where they choose to ‘rest’, Isamu was easily seen leaving and making haste in their direction. Her calm demeanor had disappeared, she seemed concerned, and she happened to not be looking at Kichaku, but Yaban and Zemir then to Kichaku. Following behind her was Reikaha held the first aid kit of sorts.
If it didn’t appear like so yet, easily spotted by her attire, which was a simple loose shirt and some pants, along with her sickly pale expression and how friendly Reihaka was with her, she lived here. “If this is an invasion situation, result of ambush or a failure of a mission. Were you followed?” She broke the ice with that, simply. There was limited reasons to be here, and considering their looks, this was the first question she needed to know.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: When Isamu came out into the hallway, Kichaku froze up and had a look of confusion. She just completely brushed past him, a complete stranger covered in blood and missing an arm without so much as a glance before heading over to whoever was behind him. Even if she wasn't a friend, it seemed like somehow the situation would solve itself and no one would need to worry about her doing anything drastic. Once she passed though, Kichaku went on his way to go wash up. He'd be in the bathroom for a couple of minutes, giving Isamu and the other genin plenty of time to discuss what the hell was even happening. By a stroke of luck, maybe this was another ally they could include into their fold?
𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢: Arata found a nice spot to rest in the house while everything was unfolding, as he was in the middle of passing out from lack of oxygen every fifteen to thirty minutes, he couldn't exactly pay much attention other than mumble.
𝐙𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐫: Zemir, instead of helping Asuka took the burden on himself by picking Yaban up over his shoulders. "I did this, try get energy back, they'll need your help" he would stay beside Asuka as they made their way "I'm handing my headband in after all this. At least until I can control myself. If I'd hurt you ..." He trailed off with that.
Upon arrival at Hibikis home he immediately recognized the place. "Ironically if there's anyone there let me talk" when they entered it wasn't long until Isamu appeared, the first person to show Zemir kindness. He placed Yaban on a couch so he was at least comfortable before addressing Isamu "long time no see, I'd love to catch up but things are hectic" he looked to Kichaku "I'll risk my freedom on the fact she's trustworthy" with that, Zemir gave her the best recount of what happened leaving the portions he missed for Kichaku
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: She glanced up at Zemir, who'd taken Yaban into his arms rather than leaving her to do that work. She sighed, a long, drawn out sound- it was clear tears had been streaking down her face for some time, but now there were none left to cry. "What's handing in your headband going to solve, Zemir? If anything, just learn to control yourself. It looks like it's hard, but do you think there's some way you could learn how to fast?" She was a bit uncomfortable thinking of monster-Zemir and it was in this case she probably wouldn't be able to quite see Zemir the same way; the killing intent that had come from him was still fresh in her mind. Was that the real Zemir? But this was the Zemir she met first, wasn't it? She corrected herself- Zemir wasn't an it. She pushed Saburo's corpse out of her mind, but her voice was still rather hollow.
She was mostly silent in Hibiki's home, not really recognizing it. She stayed near Zemir, but she knelt beside Yaban, the only genuinely unconscious person. At this point, she swore Arata was just passing out for attention, but that was just another spiteful thought- all of her negative energy was mostly being redirected at passive aggressive action and thought towards Arata. Arata is such a cunt. Still, now that things were (hopefully) safe she'd make the handsigns for her healing technique. This was going to be a long night, so she might as well get started.
𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢: He had no clue who hated him, or why they did if they did, he was in the process of trying to take in air, only for his lungs to be restricted by his rib cage having been caved in. It's like trying to inflate something that's at its max size already.
But, in the end, his dreams were a little better than his current state, if a bit filled with thoughts of inadequacy regarding his power. No matter what he did on any of these missions he had been on, he just got swept to the side like he wasn't powerful at all. He wanted to be like Yaban or Zemir, or at least have someone he could count on as a friend to back him up. Funny how traumatic experiences give the worst kinds of nightmares.(edited)
𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐮 𝐔𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐡𝐚: “There is a spare set of clothes within the bathroom, use it to dress any wound possible.” As she passed by Kichaku, she spoke with a point. In the bathroom were folded clothes on the counter, with a towel, almost as if she was going to take a shower and it seemed their timing was on a good point too. Unlike the normal side of Isamu, which was the always smiling, friendly and compassionate one without a single worry. She was easily found with a neutral expression, she almost felt like she was putting on her father’s shoes too.
As she made it to Zemir, she listened with all her attention as her hues trailed only once to the passed out Yaban, to everyone else, one at a time, back to Zemir and once he got done expressing. She heard the worst of it all and she wasn’t going to show her pain, even with the deaths that she ‘heard’ of and those that will always mean something to her gentle heart. As everyone under the leaf, was her family and it pained her to know such things happened.
So. Within this heartache, she simply closed her eyes with a gentle smile. Lifting up her right hand to pat Zemir on the shoulder. “I get it.” She attempted to sound as reassuring as possible, even if he told her half of it was his fault, such as attacking his teammates. She did not judge him one bit nor have bitterness. She didn’t seem scared all the same. She recalled everything he told her. “We can talk after this is over.” She whispered that with her gesture to attempt to calm him down, because she honestly felt like noone was. As soon as she said those words. She moved back a bit.
Clapping her hands together, she went to grab EVERYONE’s attention. “Due to the situation. We will be relocating into my room. There is too many areas to defend here. And no is not an option.” She stated with a small pause, as she looked up at the ceiling then to the door. What was she going to do, what could she do? Clearing her head for the moment, she had to think like her father and yes, despite the pain of those around her, she found her calmness and words from her father, his advice in mind. “Everyone is battered, bruised or completely out. Thus, once inside my room, I will be placing traps everywhere to ensure we can manage. As there is only one way into my room and two ways out.” She added, yes, she was being bossy.
“I will help carry anyone.” She added. If someone wanted to check her plan, she didn’t mind conversing the idea, but it was her home.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: After somewhere about 5 minutes, Kichaku left the bathroom. His hair was tousled and moppy, freshly wet but at least not caked in ash and dried blood. His clothes were a little wet too, but only spotted in areas where he tried rubbing out the major stains. He came out just in time to hear the ongoing conversation, as Isamu was trying to get everyone to move to her room. Kichaku walked up behind her and patted Isamu's back, standing above her as he looked down with a serious expression.
"Look, I don't know who you are. I understand you might be a friend to some of these people, but I'm in charge of this operation. Moving everyone to another room could risk more injury for those who are hurt, and make people unnecessarily comfortable. After what happened, there's no way we could be tracked at this point. These people are hurt, and Asuka is the only one that can help them. Don't interrupt her concentration. I will handle defending this house. We'll be out of your hair soon enough, even if it's just for Lord Hibiki's sake."
Kichaku walked past her once he finished, first walking over to the windows. If left around he'd start inspecting the blinds of the windows, calibrating how much light passed through and the shadows it created until most of the living area was caught in stark light and darkness. Once that was finished, Kichaku walked over to a chair and finally sat back.
"Now, if any enemy comes into this house I will be able to kill them," Kichaku said this with confidence before looking to Zemir, "what happened after I passed out?"
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: "Would it be possible to also bring some food?" She'd have no issues to relocation, provided there was food- she felt like it had been days since she ate, but Kichaku's statement- or rather, command, in the person's house, made her realize she wasn't moving anywhere and nobody would be bringing food. She let out a very agonized moaning sound after Kichaku sat down, before her shoulders shuddered again and she began sobbing. She was so inexplicably done with today; food, Saburo dying, Zemir turning into a monster, Arata being a cunt. It was just too much, but she had to keep healing Yaban. She just wanted it to be over.
𝐙𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐫: He frowned as Isamu placed a hand on his shoulder but nodded along with her anyway "Sure ... Sounds fine" He said in response to her offer to talk later. As Isamu began barking orders only for Kichaku to give his own orders. Zemir would shake his head, both made sense, they needed to be safe but currently Arata and Yaban were in no condition to be moved around. He let out a sigh and slumped down against a wall. At this stage, Kichaku emerged from the bathroom now washed off and looking refreshed. When asked for a rundown, Asuka jumped in and gave the rundown, he pointed to her and nodded "She hit the mark, just look around and you'll get the idea. After you collapsed the hut became swarmed with bugs, once we all got out they were getting covered in them and then I just ... went ... wild. Came too deeper into the forest after I ran out of chakra against Chie, then there was the fire and here we are"
𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐮 𝐔𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐡𝐚: Turning to face Kichaku who choose to pat her upon her shoulder and say he was the one who did all the commanding, he may have not knew who she was and he didn’t seem to care in the slight either. Which was all find. Which, she almost seemed a bit annoyed at the fact he said “He will defend” the house. Which her reveal of annoyance was a softer smile that she aimed to him. And oh god. He was treating her like a child. So. Once he found himself saying whatever he desired for the moment and walking by, to do whatever.
“This is true. Others are injured and there will discomfort, however, I will stress reconsidering this, placing them in a safe and secure room, just in case, you cannot handle it, is not the worst idea. However, if you truly believe this is the best course. I will cannot stop you. That is up to the opinions of those assigned with you.” She attempted to be reasonable and as soon as she said these words, she didn’t like the pain of others, but having the thought of them being safe and out of the way seemed ideal. However, she wish they were not here if this situation was truly this bad.
Turning to move down the hallway, she was actually going to head in her room to grab a few things that belonged to her, she was not going to be caught off guard and expected the worst to happen. She’ll also make a stop by her father’s room to find a sword or something, like that, maybe a wakizashi, father had one of those. Meanwhile, her bird just sat on the floor with everyone else.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: "I'm not saying it again. We're staying here, and I'm not arguing about it," Kichaku said this on parting words about what Isamu thought was best. Where they were now, even though it was closest to the openings of the house they also had more room to move around and places to escape in the case of another attack. But he wasn't going to point all of this out to Isamu just so she could understand, there were more important things at hand.
When Asuka began to cry, Kichaku got up from his seat and moved over to Asuka. He knelt to her level and put his hand around her shoulder. He didn't say anything, he just kind of silently listened and let Zemir finish speaking.
"Asuka," Kichaku gripped her shoulder, "you are a hero. Without your help, a lot of us would've died back there. But your work is not finished yet, just keep working on healing them up. We don't know when the enemy is coming next, nor do we know who they are. If you stop here, only more people are going to get hurt. Keep up the good work."
Kichaku wasn't the best at consoling people, but it was important that Asuka stayed focused on the task for a little longer. Everyone had been through a lot today, and most of these genin in this house would probably never look at the world the same again. But again, these were the only people who could save Konoha from the dark future ahead. Kichaku got back up and sat down in his chair, listening to Zemir's side again. He had heard it over 3 times now, something was wrong with Zemir. At that point, Kichaku finally focused completely on him and began with a simple question.
"What do you mean wild? Like a genjutsu or something like that?"
𝐙𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐫: Zemir sighed and pinched his brow, he kept the main details of his unique abilities on the downlow, Hibiki of course knew and by extension so did Isamu, the rest just knew he had anger issues, until now that was. "I ... its hard to explain. I'm unstable. Volatile. I don't know what causes it, maybe its related to my shapeshifting abilities but sometimes i'm just .... consumed by rage, all I want to do is kill anything in sight to just ..." he made a tearing motion like ripping something in half, and for a moment he looked angry at himself "It just happens and I can't control myself, at that point I attack anything in sight because I want to ... because i NEED to i just need to kill things in that stage. Thats what happened earlier ... Its meant to be on the downlow. Only Hibiki knew the full extent, I was kinda meant to be under watchful eye from him"
𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐈𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞: Asuka jumped when Kichaku put his hand on her shoulder, but she nodded. He was right, she just needed to focus more. This was all she could manage doing, all that she was useful for, so of course she had to keep going. She steeled herself, continuing on the healing process. She couldn't speak; it felt like she'd just cry all the more. It didn't matter if she stopped or kept going, people were going to get hurt and others were going to end up like Saburo regardless.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: As Zemir explained his abilities, Kichaku couldn't help but feel unsettled. Normally, someone like Zemir wouldn't be trained for combat in the first place if they couldn't control themselves. It just went against shinobi code, managing one's emotions was one of the basic rules of being a shinobi. So, there had to be some reason why Zemir was here in the first place. After thinking on it for a second, Kichaku continued to press further on the matter.
"Shape-shifting abilities? Are these abilities you have particularly strong or have some unique trait?"
𝐙𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐫: Zemir rubbed the back of his head as he thought about how to better explain the point, if he wasn't so exhausted and afraid of himself he'd just demonstrate the ability right there and then, instead he sighed and tried his best to explain. "So far ... theres two stages. One and Two I guess you'd say. In stage One i can control my actions, i mean ... the desire to just kill or attack things is there but ... I can control myself, I guess its more like, I consider collateral damage to allies fine as long as the enemy is defeated. Its like ... this powerful surge of chakra through my body and then I can do things like change my arm into a sword, create thrusters on my back to move faster or jump further. I mean, i haven't tapped into it much but .... i'd wager its limitless"
𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐨: Chie had been there the entire time, hearing the conversation go from one person to the other. She looked in the direction of whoever that was talking with a blank expression. Then looked over at Arata who seem to have hit the hay. She stepped over and held a hand on his chest, making sure he was still breathing. His breath somewhat out of the normal, so he must have been hit or something that could cause him trouble. But he was still breathing, just, unconcious. Afterwards she turned her focus on the conversation that went on. ''From what I saw when I came across Zemir, he bomked into me then probably reached a limit of some sort? Considering how you just stopped.. and suddenly you went from being armoured up to be, you-you.'' She threw in then looked around for a moment. The girl who lived in this house, what was her name again... Maybe she should ask. Chie stepped away from the group and went down the same path she had seen the new girl walk down. Continuing down, Chie came to the room where she heard someone fumbled around with things then stood near the door. ''Eh- hello! Thank you for your hospitality. What's your name again?'' She quickly bowed then looked up at her.
𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐮 𝐔𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐡𝐚: Rubbing her face with a bit of annoyance, she couldn’t quite identify quite level of annoyance and breathing didn’t seem to be helping. After the few seconds it took her to get properly dressed, get all her gear adjusted to her body, borrowing her father’s sword as well, and hopefully keep mother nature away, along with natural selection and her cold of sorts,. She just sat at her desk for a bit, face first into it actually. So as Chie strolled the around the corner to greet, she would’ve barely spotted Isamu going face first into her desk as she sat.
Lifting her head, she looked to the voice that spoke up, near her doorway and now in the actual light, there was ivory and there was white, she was in that mix and she was pale. “You are welcome. However, Isamu Uchiha. Everyone addresses me as daughter of Hibiki before anything else.” She said with a short tone, wiggling out of her chair. “How can I assist you: did you need something?” She added.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: Kichaku wasn't sure how to take this. He had yet to see these transformations, but from the way the group made it sound it seemed as though Zemir was nearly unstoppable during his rampage. The fact that the former Hokage had to look over Zemir further supported that. After Chie added her own point and went on her way, Kichaku began to think about the inexperience of these genin. Certainly with Zemir in line, even if they knew basic teamwork they'd need to learn how to work around something like him. Even if he was dangerous, so long as that power could be controlled... it could be just what they need to win this in their favor. With 2 assassins down, and their main source of tracking being gone it would be hard to imagine when the next would come. Maybe it wouldn't, and they'd be completely safe. But even if that were the case, they'd still need to follow and find them. Kichaku was in deep thought, as he held his hands together and rested his chin on them.
After about 10 minutes of silence, Kichaku finally breathed a sigh and got up from his chair.
"I'm going to wait for Chie to get back. I just realized you guys haven't heard what happened back in the forest. I'm surprised you two didn't ask me about it, honestly..."
Kichaku would go silent, and look down the corridor waiting for Isamu and Chie to come back.
𝐙𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐫: Zemir shrugged "There were more pressing matters at the time" Zemir watched Kichaku as they waited, what did he think of him now? Was he going to try turn him in? He wasn't in a condition to really fight his way out of the house, he sighed and decided to wait it out
𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐨: What a strange thing to see, her face seem to be planted against the surface of the desk. Was something wrong? Maybe she felt stressed out due to them using her home as somewhat of a hideout. ''Oh, nono we're all- well most of us are good. Are you doing good though, you seem a little uncomfortable.'' She asked and looked around the room. After spotting her face-first into the desk, it seemed rather natural to ask her about it. ''If you are ready, we should join the others again, Isamu.'' She took a step away from the door and begun to make her way down the hallway.
𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐮 𝐔𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐡𝐚: Blinking blankly, she guessed Chie saw that. "I am actually not that uncomfortable. I know two out of the lot of you. Yaban and Zemir. I trust those who are with them, as I trust both of them." She stated simply, moving to a stand as she cupped a hand over her mouth and did a soft cough, trying to muzzle it. With that she preceded forward, depsite wanting to be left alone as she was easily annoyed as of late. But she still attempted to be reasonable.
"It would be the best idea." She agreed with Chie, grabbing her headband from her dresser and tying it around her neck as she proceeded outside of her doorway, closing the door and following behind the girl. "Kotashi isn't with Yaban... and now Reihaka is depressed." She murmured, her hues looked down the hallway to see a still songbird and noticed Kichaku. Lovely.
𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: Once Chie and Isamu joined them back at the front of the house, Kichaku moved to a part of the room where everyone could see him.
"Alright, it appears as though we're going to be here for the rest of the day. While we're staying here, I want us all to try and help each other. If you see anyone struggling, or Asuka needs supplies or help of any sorts you help her. If Yaban or Arata need something while they are recovering, you help them. We're a team, and we're supposed to work that way," Kichaku cleared his throat and briefly glanced at Zemir, "It's come to my attention too that Zemir here has an unstable power. He has attacked you or your friends during the attack. Because of the power he possesses... I will be testing all of you to work as a team and specifically in ways that will help you all function together without any chance or repercussion of what happened in the forest. That way even if I go down, you all can continue to work together no matter what the situation demands."
Kichaku took a moment to breath, he didn't speak for a few seconds but knew he had to continue anyway.
"I will be deciding on the appropriate time, sometime later tonight to send Saburō's body home in secret before we hold our own private memorial. I understand he was a good friend to some of you, and he was a true hero to the end. After the memorial ends, I will tell you all our future plans and goals. There's no telling when the third assassin will come, or if he will at all. No matter what, we must find him and capture him before anyone else is hurt by his actions. Considering the events of today, I think we all know now at this point we can't stop here. There's work to be done, we have to save our village. We have to do the job that no one else will that no one else can do. Thank you all for being here, for being strong. The days ahead of us will only be worse, so let's spend this day to relax one final time before we have to steel ourselves against what's to come."
